According to the website, for hard wired solutions you have to choose either Alpine, Pioneer, or Sony. Otherwise I think you setup the IR and you can use a few other brands.

Cleaning your Honda Flannel Car Cover
(The following is a direct quote from the instuction sheet. I personally would not leave it on the car)
"The cover can be washed while it is on the car, using a small mount of Liquid Fantastik Cleaner and a soft brush or sponge. Use water to completely rinse off the cleaner. Leave the cover on the car, or draped over a clothesline or wall, and allow it to air dry."
This seems like the best method:
"The cover can also be washed in a large automatic washer found in most commercial laundromats. A home-sized washer is too small. DO NOT use a washer with an agitator as this can rip or tear the fabric. Use two (2) cups of Liquid Fantastik Cleaner. DO NOT use soap or detergent. Cover can be washed in warm water. Water temperature must not exceed 185F.
Run it through 2 rinse cycles. It is very important that the cleaner is thoroughly removed.
IF the cover is dried in an automatic dryer, use "LOW HEAT" or "AIR DRY" setting only!
The cover can also be airdried draped over a clothesline, wall or on the car."

Thanks, Cyclon for all the great information! I'm realizing just how much I need to learn!

No problem. Even the owners that have had theirs for a while are learning new things. BTW, the secret compartment seems to be the hardest one. We've had people that went two years with the car before they figured it out.Originally Posted by babyblue

Q: I need to change my differential fluid. What do I use?
A: Be very careful on this one as some Honda dealers will give you the wrong fluid. The S2000 should use a GL5 differential fluid. Do not buy VTM4 or any other fluid as it will cause damage to your differential. Double check this even when servicing your car at the dealership.

Q: I have an 20XX model year car. Can I get an exhaust that says it's for earlier models?
A: Most of the time, yes. The exhaust piping has not changed from 2000-2005. All exhast systems should fit fine within those model years. The only difference is going to be tip clearance. However, on 2006+ models, the exhaust piping has been changed to a more straight route and cat back exhausts from previous models will not line up perfectly if you have an 06. Custom fabrication would need to be done to match the angle of the pipes at the attachment point.
Wow, yet another change Honda made to the car for 2006. I wonder why they did this?Originally Posted by Cyclon36
Only thing I can think of is to improve flow. I want to take some snapshots of the undercarriage and see how many bends were actually eliminated. They also replaced the stock round resinator pipe with an oval one. I wonder if they fooled with the mufflers as well.Originally Posted by S2k Dude

You need to do a dyno of your car and see if it's making more HP than the '04-'05s.Originally Posted by ENGA2k

ok i got a tough one for you guys n gals.
usually i avoid buying the first year of any vehicle, it's always been my preference, usually the first year of any vehicle has issues and they work it out by the second year. are there any known major issues with the MY2000's? I've spotted a few really fantastic deals on the first year ap1's and i'm kinda iffy about it.
Let me add one more question to the list
I've spotted the ipod connector as an option on the honda website. has anybody checked this thing out? is it compatible with earlier years?
I have a 2000 and haven't had any major issues with it (knock on wood). I do hate the plastic window but that can easily be changed over to a glass top. The tail lights for this year have been known to fade and there is a recall on them.Originally Posted by digitalcassette
The 2000 year model radios are not compatible with the ipod connector as far as I know. I think that was just on AP2's. As for problems, other than the spark plug recall, the tail light recall, and the seatbelt recall, there were no major issues. Decelleration buzz was common on the earlier years as well as and oil banjo bolt that sometimes caused cylinder #4 to fail. Just double check all the work done on it and make sure it's all up to date.
I would say about 95% of them are free of major problems as they get into higher mileage.
Several weeks ago, I went to get gas, started my car, I got an error light on the dash that said "check gas cap", which I did and still the light was lit. Checked the owners manual, nothing! Called the dealer, he said bring the car in and leave it for a day. Called another dealer, he asked if I had left the key in the ignition or when I put the cap back on, I didn't click the gas cap 3 times. Anyway I didn't think I had left the key in the ignition and I knew I clicked the gas cap 3 times. Evidentially, the error light reset after about a week. How annoying, I now take the key out every time and make sure to click the cap. Sure am glad I didn't listen to the 1st dealership and leave it at the dealership a whole day! Just an FYI, don't leave the key in the ignition and click your gas cap properly!!!!

Cyclon, how come I can't make my own thread? I just had a question.
I have received my key less remote today from the dealer, but they didn't send me the instruction on how to program it.. so I was wondering if anyone could help me out on this?
