View Full Version : Relacement of inner cv joint

Ok, figured I would start a new thread on the inner cv joint. I've started on the driverside 1st. This is a real easy job to do. I think most shops would charge you at least $400 - $600 bucks per side including labor.


The parts cost from hardtopguy on s2ki is about $200 for each side. It took me all of about 10 min. to take it apart. Installation should go just as fast.

Here's some pics:

Can't believe we didn't think of this first. How about the outer cvs?? Just a guess, but I bet they're gone too with the amount of vibration your having. When you get all that slop out the car it will SEEM a lot quicker too. When you get the parts let me know. I'd love to assist in putting it back together.

David is SO happy about finally getting this resolved. I'm proud of him for doing the work on his own...and I think it will be rewarding for him too. Heck, it already has been!!

I've checked the outer cv joint, it seems fine. I'll be ordering the parts on Monday.
I may be able to make the drive next Saturday :goodjob:

The car is done. No more vibration. It took me about 2 hours total including tear down.

I AM SOOOOO GLAD :goodjob:

I can now drive my car again. It's only been about 6 months
