The official November drive is set. The drive will be on Sunday November 28th. We will be driving down to Pine Mountain Georgia to go on an animal safari! I don't know if any of you have done this before, but it's definitely worth the trip. Plus it's a little further south so some of our more unseen member can easily attend (chuck). This is not going to be a fly through the woods as usual. The animal safari is like a real life Jurassic park, only with modern day animals. We will be driving through an open wildlife resort that is home to free roaming animals such as Buffalo, Zebra, Longhorns, Camels, Giraffes, Ostriches, and Rhinos. While the S's will be safely parked in the lot, we will be touring in vans that the park lets out (although you are free to take your S through the park).

It is a park, so there will be an entry fee. I'm working on getting a group deal, but I need to know how many people will actually go before I can negotiate. I'm hoping to get rates under $10, but that will depend on how many we have participating.
Anyway, I thought this would be a nice changeup for the cold weather since we probably won't be able to enjoy much top-down driving around this time. Thoughts and ideas are welcome as usual.

Due to possible rain and lack of participation this weekend, the November drive has been moved to Sunday November 28th. I deleted the posts to remove clutter so that people can see this change and so that we can stay on topic.
Sunday seems to be the day that most people were willing to go on. The December drive pre-run scheduled for the 28th is now set for Saturday the 27th. Please post if you will be joining us on this new date so I can get a count and contact the park with the right information. Since this isn't a hard core drive day, non S2000 owners are welcome to attend and you can invite whoever you want as well, just let me know in advance. Hopefully this new date will work out better for all of us.

I'm trying to get few evolution owners together to get together with another car forum people to just get together for a drive.
Hope it works.

Great! The more people the better. I'll post a meeting location later tonight so we can all take off from the same place. Check later for the time and place or PM with your phone number if you won't be able to access the board later and want to be updated that way.

Sorry to take so long about getting the meeting place together guys. The official time will be 11:30 at the Wendy's in Union City. To get there, take I-85 south past the perimeter to exit 64 and take a right. The Wendy's is on your left as soon as you turn off the exit. We will eat lunch and leave at 12:30 for the park. The weather calls for sunny skies and no rain so it should be great. Call or PM me if you have any questions.

Well, the November drive was a blast. Sorry more of you couldn't make it. The animals were in full force and I got a chance to feed the giraffes this time. They stick their heads right into the van. Definitely one of the coolest things. Unless of course it's the food crazy deer that stuck it's head into the van and stole a whole bag of feed away from John's daughter Amber.

Final attendance was terrible for a club of 54 paid members. That's all I'm going to say.

In the past we haven't had "drives" in the winter months because of the weather...I'm afraid the weather is going to get in the way of a lot more if we continue having them during the worst part of the year...
Unfortunately, this is swim season for me...I have swim meets every weekend so I rarely get to attend activities during this time of the year...I'll do my best to attend as much as possible but if there's a swim meet I'll be unable to be there

yeah very sorry we missed. Got very busy with a take home test, and for the next two weeks I'll be dealing with finals so I doubt anyone will hear a peep outta me until then - Hopefully see you guys as soon as I can get my head outta books! http://www.s2000atlanta.com/forum/images/smilies/xmas-smiley-031.gif Can't wait for Christmas break. Sorry we missed it Joe. Was so excited to do this but as Aaron said had to spend it doing work instead of enjoying it with you guys. We just have so much going on lately and it's hard to do anything right now but what has to be done. It's a great idea to have drives this time of year if we had more time free to do them. You are doing an awesome job Joe. We all agree on that, I'm sure. The drives you plan after the holidays and once the weather is warmer will be flooding with attendees.
Get well soon Tam. Keep us posted Dman.
