I know that we have wanted to get some other groups to come down, up, over... whatever to join us for a drive. This will be alot like the dragon, only this will only require the commitment from the Atlanta group to go up to their own backyard. We are seeing on S2ki that we have people who plan to come from PA, Souther Florida, Alabama, and Nashville. I have spoken to many of the Community Organizers for other areas and they are going to help spread the word. Please everyone plan on being there! We need to have strong numbers for this event and a good chance that I am going to need some help making this happen. I will be posting more information in this thread as the event gets closer, however you may also check S2ki for more details at... http://forums.s2ki.com/forums/showt...threadid=204095 (http://forums.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=204095)
See you all there!

OK...everyone needs to put this on their calendar...Dewain is going to need a few people to help run this thing...and we'll need to have a GOOD showing from the membership...it would be a shame to have our own event right here in our own backyard and not have a good portion of our members show...especially since you can just drive up on Saturday morning for the drive if you don't want to stay in the hotel on Friday night...

it'll be fun....there are a couple good mountain runs the other side of the highway too. Be kind of funny to run 50 S2s through Toni's old hometown/ downtown as we made a short loop from one mountian to the next....to much to organize i know, but it would be fun to stir the little town up.....maybe an evening run just to get at the redneck kids crusin' in their Camaros....

Need water hose -- Dewain had asked me to bring a hose and a bucket...I can bring the bucket...however, when I visited my parents home I looked at the hose again and it's too big for my trunk (it's on one of those neat rolling-up thingies (yes, that's the official name)) -- I can go grab one at Target if needed...but, I thought I'd try the board first...can anyone else bring a hose...extra buckets would probably be good, too...sorry 'bout that...

Anyone else having trouble getting directions off Mapquest or Yahoo maps? It goes to 76 George Avenue when I put in 76 N Georgia Avenue. I tried using the outlet mall address, that doesn't work either. I have directions to the hotel from the Best Western site but I need to print out directions from there to my folks in North Georgia for Sunday afternoon. PLEASE HELP! :computer:
Is there a better way to go than 85N, 285N to 400N?
I'm really looking forward to this, it will be so much fun! :drive:

Try clicking on this link:
http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?country=US&countryid=US&addtohistory=&searchtype=address&cat=&address=76%20N%20Georgia%20Ave&city=Dawsonville&state=GA&zipcode=30534%2d6625&search=%20%20Search%20%20&searchtab=address
That should be the map of the hotel on that road. Below the map, there is an option to get direction to/from that address. Select "from" and then put in the address you want to go to from the hotel in the spaces below. Hope that helps.

Yes that was lot's of fun, I enjoyed seeing everyone and 44 cars driving on the roads that are basically in our back yard. We got a few complaints from a few of the guys on bikes (but that's to be expected) and some of the Harley riders (they don't like anything from Japan).
It was a very safe event, with that many cars it's a bit crowded to go too fast. No tickets were given out that we know of and nobody spun out (or worse) on the drives. The fender-bender was minor and occurred in the parking lot after lunch, two people not looking where they were going in reverse I think. I didn't see the damage but heard it wasn't bad.
The shirts, mugs, and prizes were great. Thanks again to all the sponsors!

they were exiting the parking lot. the front one went a little, and then stopped, and then the second hit him, and it was just the rear bumper that got damaged, and they're friends so they're working it out.

Well, I met up with some of my bimmer friends yesterday at the SELOC car meet at Dave & Busters. They had just got back from Dahlonega and said that one of the bimmers ran off the road and fell down about 100ft. Luckily the driver only suffered only minor scrapes.
Favorite quote from that day from a kid on the side of the road, "Dude, I love your car!"

Great event! Lilly and I really enjoyed ourselves. Running the North Georgia mountains in excess of 100mph and taking corners near the limit is a rush that I truly enjoy!! This car is VERY addictive!!
This is the first large gathering of S's we've been too and it was very cool seeing a line of S's in back of me with their Xenons on! Amazed there isn't a police station on 19. But glad there isn't!!
Hats off to Dr T, Dewain, Lee, and Jesse for all the hard work, and thanks to all the sponsors. Will certainly try to support them. The other S2000 clubs were also very friendly, and very easy to talk to!
Things that stand out from the weekend, in no particular order:
1. Chuck from Macon.
2. Everyone getting a door prize.
3. Lack of police. (I passed only one on 19)
4. No serious accidents and no tickets.
5. The amount of money Panic spends on his car.
6. Wheels and hardtops.
7. Lee should be a standup sitdown comedian.
8. How balsy some of our drivers can drive.
9. Just plain lucky that I knew the manager at La Cazuela.
10. The just plain cool line of S's weaving thru the countryside.
11. How much bikers dislike cars from Japan.
12. How much local businesses dislike car clubs but enjoy the revenue.
13. How much fun I had despite being slowed down by other cars.
14. How Jeep drivers think their Jeeps are S's.
15. Not a single pure white S.
16. How Jesse just loves jumping in front of you.
17. How far people will drive (11.5 hours from Pa.)
18. How lucky Toni was riding with Lee all day.
19. How calm Ricks daughter was while he was heel and toeing.
20. How one-track minded Dewain gets when holding these events.
21. So few black S's. BLACK ROCKS!!!
22. How good David looks in blue.
23. How come Jesse's pictures are so much sharper than everyone elses.
24. Don't understand how bicycle riders can enjoy riding in the mountains.
25. Rain is not necessarily bad.
26. How come we don't do this every weekend!

That is a great summary of the weekend. Kudos Tom! I totally agree with #24, that didn't look like fun at all.

Tom, I guess I thought I was the only one that thought that guy was interesting! My wife would agree with #5...if she had any idea!!
14!!!! That is hi-larious!! I thought I was the only one that was wanting to run that guy off of the road...you must have been right behind me.
I may have been drunk on David's exhaust fumes...but did anyone see that Terradactyle fly across the road on the final drive back to the hotel???? It looked like a HUGE hawk or a stealh bomber.

Hmmmmm 21. and 22.
I will have my black S soon. About another week.Bet you can't wait!
Went back and counted the colors in the parking lot at Brasstown Bald.
Silver (both flavors) 15
Red 10
Yellow 7 (both flavors)
Black 4 (the best flavor)
Blue 3 (includes Dman's flavor)
White 1 (not a purebred though)
Somebody can break down the silver and yellow flavors if they want. Use Jesse's picture, it's the sharpest.
