I plan on going down and watching the drift thing. I don't know if we will actually go inside this year.

I guess the last two years of it were enough for one lifetime. I much prefer things like the BMW museum in SC. That's real.

If I see another altezza clad cavalier I swear I will go into a deep depression.

Bass music gives me a massive headache anyway.

Just wanted to let you know that the races will be ending Saturday evening.
Teams will be coming in on Wednesday with practise and time trials up until Friday. They will be running some SCCA races on Friday, with some other events going on. On Saturday they have the Panoz Celebrity race before the PETIT LEMANS that starts' around 11 or 12. The race with the ALMS Prototypes and modified production cars is the main event that goes for 10 hours.:drive:

Or you could just go test drive a car at Rick Case dealership at Gwinnett Place Mall, they are giving away free tickets to NOPI this weekend to all who test drive a car.....

If they have any left.....Aaron and I went lastnight and and they said they had none left. He went to one manufacturer and I to another to possibly get 4 tickets. Mitsubishi and Mazda had none left. Though my sales guy asked the Manager after asking everyone else and he pulled 2 from his personal stash. That was Mazda. Good luck! :) I drove a silver RX-8 with red/black leather interior for a 2nd time....I want it, I want it! Sweet ride.

she thinks it's unnecessary for us to have 2 S2k in the same garage -- You'll have to work on her Wendy.....though a 4 door sports car to hit the mountains when Morgan is with us would be fun

I'd love to have one but 1) we need a 4 seater for when Morgan is with us or someone else, right now the only way we can all ride together is in my 240 2) I've been looking at the RX-8 since it came out and love it, I can have a sporty car and it seats 4 3) I don't think it makes sense to have two S2's unless we have a 3rd family car which we will eventually but now right away 4) not in the serious market for a new car just yet because having to save funds for it

I'd love to have an S to drive whenever I want but we need more room right now.

I kind of saw that one coming. Though we didn't actually see it happen, I told Wendy that it would happen. There was a total lack of experience there. There was also total lack of safety for the crowd. ...Bummer!:(

For me NOPI was a "been there done that" type of show. Once was enough, even with the free tickets that were posted I did'nt care to make the round trip to and from AMS.

ToniG

This was my first time to NOPI. It was fun but don't think I'd go again unless the tickets were free either. I think I'm too old for that $#@* myself. With the heat, water costing $3.50, undiserable food with outrageous prices, neither of us had cash and I'm too cheap to pay that even if we did, not being used to walking all day(10:00-7:00) and had to make several trips to the car for water. I think it would have been more fun split between two leisurely enjoyed days rather than a full day of heat and walking. Saw some cool stuff but like A, the only really cool thing was the K-1 Attack. Now I can say I've gone....yay! What I enjoyed most about it was time with my honey!

Man, reading these posts remind me of what I said last year when I got back from NOPI. Fortunately, I remembered these these sentiments and they saved me from certain annoyance. I was able to have some fun this weekend. Rock on.

Aaron and Toni - I'm sorry we couldn't find you after we parted ways. We went to the Bridgestone thinger and got signed up, but once we got in line, the line never moved! It didn't move once in 20 minutes! Finally David and I left and went back in the show. There were interesting cars and stuff there (Learner'sPermit was there too!) and we got to see and S2000 with a roll cage on it that David liked. Other than that, we had enough and we headed out in the early afternoon. It's unfortunate what happened with the Battleground drifting event. David told me that one of those guys was going to end up in a wall before the day was done. He was right....and it sucks that people got hurt as a result.
I didn't take any pictures this year. Did you or anyone else have pictures of anything interesting from the show?

We did the same thing, after signing up and getting in line we decided we didn't want to wait an hour or two to drive the bridgestone cars. We didn't bring a camera but Aaron put a link to the one thing we really thought was cool...the K-1 Attack, check it out.
