Yes but the screen piece that gives it an OEM look needs to be modified to fit a LHD vehicle... Other than that there is a company called Mastergrade that offers a CF piece to house the screen for a Navi in.

Some guy bought the JDM nav piece to try to put it in a US car. There was no way to modify the frame to fit our cars. He ended up selling it. The curves on it are just to conformed to RHD cars. Some people have cut the dash, but I haven't seen one that doesn't look like butcher job or that someone molded a bunch of fiberglass on the dash.

I can tell a lot of effort went into it, but to me, it doesn't look like it belongs.

I agree, it's like saying "hey checkout the traction control system I installed in my car". I like that Honda kept it simple (at least in the US anyway).

except that's a frame, not a cover. but a carbon door might not be bad if you had other matching interior bits.....

Thinking about it....its expensive so I have to go in steps...the next thing for me is the hood with single inlet and then back to interior carbon. I don't like the full door panel, but accents are cool.

only if it didn't involve tearing my whole body kit off....I would like them and they would work on my car. However if I do, I will be shaving the door handles and doing the rest of the body work I had in mind. That is way down the road.

Oh yeah, that would kinda get in the way of your side skirts and other trim. I'd like to put those on mine if Rio wasn't so hard to match. Plus I heard that they break easy.

Saw a new NAV that might fit in the S. It looks like a normal CD player that fits in your dash. Its a dvd/cd player that the NAV screen pops out like a CD tray and then flips up for viewing. I am trying to find a link and some pics to post. I just can't remember which add I saw it in. I do know that somebody does make it though. I'll keep you posted as soon as I find out who is making it.

Yeah, I had though about these too, the problem is the overhang of the vents and dash would prevent the screen from being able to stand up completely. Also, the gearshifter would get in the way of the screen as it panned out of the unit.
The only good way to get Nav on the S is to live in Japan, hack the dash, or add on a Garmin Nav unit to the side of the center console. Other than that, it's pretty much impossible.

1 more option. I saw a commercial for one of the new luxo liners. BMW or Lexus or Jag, I can't remember. but it had the same in dash player but the screen was made out of a lexan type of material that came out of the player and was not a flat screen. It kind of rolled out and the lexan screen was bent in a semi-circle, so it didn't come straight out, it kind of rolled out and upwards. That version might clear both the overhang and the gear shifter.

One of my future planned projects is to have a dual monitor setup. One for DVD and the other for Nav. I'm waiting for Alpine to release a stand alone touch screen display to work with the nav unit so I don't have to have a huge remote. The plan is to use 5.5-7" screens on the dash just right of the curve after the gauge cluster and air vents. No huge cutting either. I'm looking to do an istall like they do on the back of headrests for SUV's. That way it fits flush to the dash and I don't have a huge plastic frame like some of the modders are putting on their S. It won't be perfectly plumb, but I'll sacrifice it being at a slight angle to get a flush look with no gaudy fiberglass work.

Get some rails on the unit so the whole unit could slide out a bit to make the screen stands up better w/o cuttings. iono...me no like math...

Yeah, but I'm specifically waiting on Alpine. No offense to Dewain, or anybody else with Kenwood, but I've heard nothing but bad news and gotten bad experiences from them. I did work in car audio for a while and that was one of the most returned or repaired brands (not including JVC/Audiovox or crap brands of course).

While surfing the official "yellow" thread on S2KI, I came upon this really nice install of a navi system. This is a good idea and it doesn't look butchered like some of the add on screens do.

Now, if he could just get two next to each other.
BTW, does anybody know how much room is behind the dash. Apparently there's quite a bit if he can stick a whole head unit back there. Maybe someone has some pictures of the S without a dash?
