I can't listen to music in my car anymore. The exhaust has gotten soooo fricken loud (broken baffels in the mufflers) that I can't hear the radio.

It is not often that you see Notorious BIG and Outkast on the same playlist as Bing Crosby and Perry Como! All good driving music, depending on the mood of course (though if I'm really hitting the mountain roads hard the radio is shut down in favor of the intake/ exhaust notes)

Beach Boys, Bing Crosby, Bon Jovi, Chuck Berry.... Aaron, If I pubish the artist side of my CD list, I wouldn't be allowed the bandwidth. You just aren't selective enough.

Dang, you guys must be old! Ha ha ha... naw, I'm no whipper snapper. I'm 28. In true narcisistic form, I like to listen to the latest mixes of my band's current recording project. www.theliverhearts.com
I also like Shellac, Sonic Youth, Modest Mouse, Yo La Tengo and a whole bunch of other indie stuff.

Ok, you got me. I have heard of Sonic Youth. Its those kids that hang around that drive in burger place. :D But that other band, it looks like they are Spanish or something.;)

I never heard of indie music before. I listened to some of your MP3's on your site. You do well on the drums! Why is it called "indie" music?

Thanks for the drum thing. I've always known I wanted to play drums, like since I was 4 or 5. Crazy hunh?
Indie stands for independant. Indie music is basically music that is not supported by large record labels because it's generally not popular enough to be comercially viable. Often, it's kind of punkish or folky with low production values. It's hard to get exposed to it as well. WRAS (88.5) will play some good stuff ocassionally but it's really hit or miss. I just find mainstream music to be banal and lacking a soulfulness... of course that's a generalization and there are many exceptions.
Notice that most of the good music listed above was released in a time period when the way a band looked was not as important as the way they sounded. Today, with the way the visual media is used to promote the sales of CD's, the way a band looks is almost as important as how they sound. It's too bad.

What do you have? I have about 10 different CD's and would be willing to burn a few for you too.
