Eh, Peirce Brosnan was a way better James Bond. The car was a DB9 but had no gadgets at all. The glove compartment contained a silenced pistol and a defibulator. Of course, there just happened to be a time in the move where James had a heart attack, imagine that coincidence

The action scenes were pretty good. The only parts that I didn't like is that James rolled the Aston on a completely wet road by taking a sharp turn. Talk about impossible. I doubt you could roll that car on a dry road. Oh, and at the end of the movie someone pulled out a nail gun at a construction site and used it like an automatic rifle. Anybody that's ever used one knows that #1, you can't just shoot it without pressing the end against something flat, and #2, they are not fully automatic. The guy was also shooting 6" nails out of it as well even though the gun was for a 3" nails max. Come on Hollywood consultants. Do a little bit of research.

There was a stupid plot twist at the end. Don't continue reading unless you want a spoiler.

The girl in the movie apparently betrays James at the end. M's explanation is that she made a bargain with the baddies to let James live if she gave them the money. The thing is, she had plenty of time to tell James what happened and make an escape with him if that was the truth. In the end she kills herself apparently from the guilt.

Anyway, it was ok overall. I would wait until the DVD comes out if you want to see it though. Definitely not worth $8.

I liked it :D :goodjob:

And I heard they made a custom nail gun just for that scene and they really shot Bond in the back with nails and in the on foot chase scene they were really jumping off of cranes and he almost actually died from poison and they were really busting his balls but just a few months later he was tapping a women...etc etc etc...:D :D :D

For a movie...I thought it was very entertaining :goodjob:

This is the only James Bond movie to date that I like :) The silly enemies and gadgets were always just that to me: silly. Casino Royale didn't have the goofy gadgets or dumb henchmen (except the bleeding eye thing was lame). This one shows a more "badass" james bond, and I like Daniel Craig a lot from Layer Cake which is also a good movie.

^fully agree :goodjob:

Pierce was to pretty and even after a fight still looked perfect for the camera's. Daniel Craig got his ass kicked and it showed and he actually made mistakes which was much more realistic to me!

I think that David Craig is a much better bond that the old man Pierce. I was relieved to have a real bond film back, without the crap with the invisible cars, ice fortresses, and other bullcrap that they had in the last couple of films. I liked this bond much better than all of the Pierce movies. There are a few issues with plot, but not nearly as many as the previous ones. (Denise Richards as a scientist?)

Bond is great as a badass, and I think they set it up great for the next film.

I have never really liked any Bond movie, just ok movies in my opinion. People seem to focus more on Bond than an actual good movie.

Yeah, this bond was more human and slightly less of a caracture, which I think is a good thing. I thought old blood eye was pretty good. The insane Jackie Chan style chase at the beginning was good. Wasn't happy about the car's brief life, but it was nice the way the threw a nod back to the original JB ride. I didn't care for him falling in love, and some of those smoochy sceenes just stoped the movie dead. I enjoyed it overall, but it did have some issues.

Im with Justin on this one. This movie didnt have many of the old cliches that made the old bond movies what they were and it created a new Bond all togeather. This movie may actually be held back simply because it is a "James Bond" movie and not a brand new character all togeather.

I didn't understand the movie plot. Bond was just made a "00" throughout the entire movie....by the new "M". Is this supposed to be a "beginning of bond" through the entire movie...or just the beginning? There seemed to be several references to the current M just giving him 00 status.

Overall, I did not like it. The chase at the beginning was the only thing that kept my interest. He seemed too much like roger moore being bond....The constant quick wit of most of the other bond's is to me what makes some of the others much better.

Casino Royale is a remake of the FIRST original Bond movie.

And yes, in this movie, he was made 00 and whatnot. It was all a little confusing at first.

Apparently, from what I read, this movie is the reason why Bond is so promiscuous with all the women, because he doesn't want to fall in love again, because of how he was betrayed due to this movie.

I also liked how they didn't have an ultra-cool-and-amazing gadget. Notice that in all the Bond films, all the gadgets that "Q" just happens to invent, always SAVES Bond's life? I mean, com'n!

Yeah, but they could have done a little better than a defibulator. Might as well have had a collapsable walker and some preperation H.

The glove box should have had something somewhat cool like a Rambo knife or proximity mines :D
