I was driving back to work from lunch just now and heard a commercial for the Phazer II Radar and Laser Jammer. Are these things for real? It says that the jammer will scramble the laser/radar signal so that it can't even pick your car up at all. It also comes with a 1 year ticket warranty rebate, if you get a speeding ticket they'll pay for it.

It is a federal felony to possess a RADAR jammer. Laser jammers are okay because lasers are regulated by the FDA.

Hmm, I was looking at a web site and they said it was only illegal in like 6 states to have one of these. I would be pissed if I got a speeding ticket AND another ticket for owning the damn thing that was supposed to prevent me from getting the ticket.

The fact that no reputable magazines have ever reviewd the phazer II should say something.

Yeah, I saw a BBC article about that a month or so ago. Unfortunately, the shape of the object being cloaked is as important as the metamaterials they used. And the material has to cover the entire surface area of the object, so you wouldn't be able to see outside the object.
Still, it's probably a matter of time before those problems are solved, and with emerging nano-technologies, perhaps they'll eventually make one that can bend visible light frequencies - haha!

Escort ZR3 is what I want to get. It also integrates with the 8500 x50 as well. :goodjob:
joe, have you ever been laser-d with the v1/laser jammer combo? if so, what was the outcome?
