Okay, I'm wanting to paint my stocks and I cannot decide exactly what color/scheme to go with. Please post your thoughts...

I have the perfect gold that is literally almost the same color as gold volks

I have red paint that will match my interior exactly

And Black/with a red pinstripe is super HAWT but I'm already riding on black le28n volks, so really would prefer to go way "left!"

These wheels/tires are going to be put on for mountain/autocross runs so I really want to stand out :goodjob:

Black with red pinstripe :goodjob: Those would be the hottest. You already have red calipers. You don't want to throw in too many colors.

My thought was that since these are track only, he would want something that would give the car some appeal as it runs around. I agree that if these were daily wheels black would be the way to go.

I see where Joe is coming from, but you are exactly right on what I'm thinking as I already have the "hawt" look with the black w/ polished lip volks and thought it would be great to do a poppin color for killboy to take pics of :goodjob:

what would you choose if the choices where just red and gold?

Gold goes well with black (car) and red (interior, calipers) so that is why I thought it wouldn't be to many colors going on...

if I can find a way to shrink wrap my front end incase I hit a cone :D

for reasons like that sometimes I wish I didn't have black as it so much more of a showy color b/c every mark and ding shows up and is twice as hard to get out...

that's an option although I would totally get reemed from all the hardcore autox guys...:smurf:

I think I will go for a mountain run b/f the autox but I should still be up there to hangout :cheers:

white just doesn't "pop" to me unless you can create the candycane effect like Walter:D

I would honesly suggest doing it the othe way around... Auto X before a mountain run.

go with red first. it probably won't look as good as gold but you're doing the job yourself so it'll cost next to nothing to change the color later. the red will definitely stand out more

could even transition slowly - red for a while, then paint the interior gold leaving the face red (or vice versa), before going full gold

or red on one side of the car & gold on the other

this is seriously becoming a huge debate for me to decide b/w gold and red....dammit

okay, I may paint one wheel gold and one red and then set them up against the car and take pics and post and then get the final decision...

oh and jesse the color gold is VERY similar to the volks that are painted gold like Danny's...

and the red will be the exact same red that my calipers are painted...

Color will be different for every monitor this is viewed on, all I can do is get what looks good on my setup.

The red looks kind of metallic. Could you maybe make it look flat with some runs and fingerprints to recreate how it would look if Jared painted them? :D

Jesse, does this red match up with the red you used on your mac?
If I make it bright red in photoshop like that it's going to look bad since it has the shine on it. You won't like it, it will be worse than the first round....

I am definantly on for a mountain run b/c the stock tires will pass the "flag" test as the volks will not and as far as the autocross that will have to still be debated since I know that I will end up taping up the entire car :D

I don't see "cherry blossom pink" as an option ;)

Personally I would opt for an autox than a mountain run anytime.... hitting a cone is much less damaging then say a tree or cliff.
