View Full Version : I'm getting rid of the S...
Not a big surprise eh? but this time it's not because i'm sick of the color...i love this car to death, but too much $hit happend within a year with this car so i'm getting rid of it for now to focus more on life than car.
two speeding tickets this year (villa rica, i still think it was unfair  and one i do admit) and two accidents already. you ask two? aside from the dragon mishap, i had another one last night.
i met few corporate people last night and headed home around 11pm. around 11:45ish...a dog ran in front of me...and i didn't catch this until i got up real close. it happend so suddenly that i didn't even have time to lay my foot on the brake pedal. anywho, my freshly painted amuse r1 bumper is gone as well as the fender well, undertray, radiator etc are all gone. there's blood and fur all over the back off the car. insurance has gone up $100/mo. already from the wreck in the mtns. and this one will make it worse even though it doesn't necessarily count against me (nature of God blah blah). i'm more pissed than sad right now because im having to spend money when it needs to be the other way around.
it's time to quit spending so much money on the car and actually use it for something productive. i'll be coming back to an S one day...but it's time to move on for now. i'll never forget those who helped out with driving techniques to life lessons etc...i'll stick around whether you like it or not ;)
few pics that i took with my phone.

That sucks man. Of course last time you said you were getting rid of your S so you can concentrate on life, you went out and bought a new S and a motorcycle right after. Should we expect to see you in an 06? :D

That sucks, a lot. Best of luck with whatever your decision ends up being.
Do you have the option of not reporting to the insurance?

Seems like GPW is an unlucky color (Bludprix, now you) for S owners:D Sorry to hear about your mishap, both for you and the dog. Sorry to see you sell the S but glad you're sticking around. Good luck and let me know if there's anything I can do for you:goodjob:
Sorry to hear that Danny, and sorry about the dog! Although, because you actually hit the dog this will go on your comprehensive and should not effect your insurance rate. That's what they told me about my accident anyway. Hope you change your mind. I just can't see you driving a used Civic. Besides all cars get damaged when you hit something. I guess you could save money on payments and insurance but what will you do about your mod addiction? I'm not sure if they have group therapy for that. Mod-ers Anonymous?? Mothers Against Modding?? <-- Don't tell your Mom about that. ;)

Sorry to hear about that Danny... Join the club I guess... :(
I've had about 3-4 tickets, and now 2 accidents as well... one my fault, and the other this dumba$$ chicks' fault for failure to yeild right of way while turning left... she hit me doing about 50. Damage was under $5k though.. not bad considering it tore me up. I'm getting my car back this morning after only 2 weeks in the shop!! (not bad compared to lesser damage a few months back w/ my dorifto accident, when it was in the shop for 47days!!!!!!!!)
anyways, good luck man.. and please give me a call today..
I'm going to come up and get those tires from you!
Best wishes,

You are in business now. You can't afford to sell and buy. You will have to fix the S before you sell it anyway. Fix it and keep it is the cheapest way. Just don't spend any more money on mods until your business starts giving you some returns. Believe me you will thank yourself later for keeping it.

I still say keep it! your insurance is high because of your claims mostly. The car is some of it but a new car would put you close to the same situation anyway. Check out different cars with your insurance guy before selling. I would be surprised to find out if you will see a big difference. A little yes but a lot ?????

rite you are ken... this will go against comprehensive. some ins. co. will take it against their premium some wont. there is still the comp deductible though which shouldnt be a lot...
steve, thats what i meant :):
sucks to be selling such a nice car. ive gotten the chance to drive walters once and loved it (i loved the evo more though). anyway, i had something kinda like this happen to me with my last car. i hated the car for a while, but i still didnt sell it because it meant something to me. i had 2 accidents and an event where my wheel came off the car, and it being lowered the whole side of it was gone, and it wouldnt pass emissions no matter what i did to it. but i fixed it, spent a lot of money and got it running again. sorry for yourl oss and the stupid dog.
don't worry man... my insurance is $2,700 for 6 months and im still driving... no one can seperate me and my S :D Also, if you do want to sell... how much for the car as is? i want to get a S and do turbo so i dont care about the damage. if not... how much for your wheels?

Sorry to hear about the accident and you selling your car. I complain about my insurance costs too for about a week then every time I get in my car, I forget all about it. Sorry too for the dog, ba$tard people that leave their dogs out! I blame the people for that one and they should be ticketed!!! Good luck!!!!
Sorry about the accident Danny, hopefully things go smoother from here.
BTW what insurance company do you guys have? I pay less than $500 every 6 mos...
^ statefarm. they've been great with everything...it's just my record and age.

Danny I'm up there too, at 1800 for 6 months. The insurance on these things for our age is just horrible and it makes you think that your money could be going to better things.
I hope things work out for you. :(

Wow! I'm sorry to hear about this. And that poor dog...
Get it fixed, then see how you feel. Because this memory is so fresh, now is not the best time to make decisions.

oh man... sorry to hear that danny... I have state farm too and I pay around $500 for 6 months... man.. .didn't know you guys paid so much for insurance! well... hope you can do some number crunching and hopefully be able to keep/repair the S... an S that's been broken is losing money if you try to sell it... it's worth more if you keep it I think... (that's why I'm keeping mine)...

Um, if this happened in Athens, I can help out with this. Of course, since the dog is dead, there might not be much point, and you probably don't know who the owners are anyway. However, you might be able to recover your deductable from them (if they are responsible people).

Sorry to hear about it. I hope you keep it, but I understand if you don't.
My insurance went down $300 every 6 months when I replaced the evo with a civic.

300 isn't that big of a difference if you're under 25. especially if you went from a evo to a civic. but if your insurance was 600 and went down to 300 every 6 months that's a hugh difference
my car is finally out of the shop. $500 deductible :( it was in winder area...right before citgo/kangroo off of 316.
insurance on my bike is $90ish/month. it's full coverage...covers everything/one except me when in an accident. that's what many people pay for car insurance :( :(
