I read in s2ki and e46fanatics that the new e90 m3 pricing (rumors) will be just little over 50k.
I dont believe it. I am thinking it will be somewhere in the range 70Ks but who knows.
If it is in 50s, there is a good chance I might jump ship. What you guys think about the new M?

We'll have too see how techinical the car is. If it is anything like the new M5 people will diss it. And no way the car is going to be in the 50's... i think around 65-70

Most likeley the car will start in the low 50's (probably around $51,000) then, in usual BMW fashion, you have to add a minimum of another $10k worth of "options" that really are not so much options because you wouldn't own an M3 without certian features like metallic paint, leather, xenon HID's, etc. Actual pricing will most likely be in the high $50's to low $60's when you're done. So hey, if you want to spend 2X the price of an S2000 be my guest. At least you'll get 4 years included maintenance, that alone is work about $4k on a BMW.

I would if I could afford it. 400hp v8 :goodjob: I thought the E46 M3's were in the 60k range. I bet the new M3 will be in 70k range.

Seems like a waste of money if you ask me. Get a 07 Z06 for that price and leave everything is your rearview mirror. And if Chevy stil want 70k for hte Z06 then spend 50k on a regular Vette and still get over 400hp and 400tq.

spend 5k on performance upgrades to the stock Vette and get around 550 to 600 hp. I am not a big BMW fan at all.

2x the price 2x the hp and 2x the torque... hmm... ...and probably 4x the headaches according to what I've been told by other BMW owners. But hey if I made 2x my salary I'd might be looking at an M3 convertible as well.

I have had nothing but headaches with my Honda. I love the car, but it has given me problems. Others have had issues as well. All companys have cars that have problems...

Both are totally different cars. Its not all about speed. The C6 ZO6 is very fast for the money, but doesn't touch the beemer when it comes to luxury, quality, prestige, etc. It would be a tough choice for me if I had 70k, but I don't and will keep dreaming. :D

quality, prestige, etc. . :D Those are questionable in a BMW to me. Besides I have ahd "prestige" cars before and they didn't really do anything for me. Maybe its my age now but cheap and reliable is what is valueable to me know.

Me too. I have issues with my car but nothing compared to what some of you have gone through. I have rattles everywhere, I have the rear clicking noise, etc. But I still love my Honda. The only thing major that has failed on my car was the clutch, but that was expected. I pray everyday that nothing major breaks. :D

Not to get off topic too much but it kind of relates to paying for that "prestige". I was at Lou Sobh on Pleasant Hill Friday and they had a used 04 SL 55 AMG with under 10k miles on it. A $130k + car new. They were asking $80k for it. I know I could get it for $70 to 75k if I really wanted it. Almost 50% drop in value for a low mileage car. Call me crazy but "prestige" is not worth that kind of money.

for the money that guy lost on trade I could have bought 3 new S2000's or a new Vette or almost 2 new M3's

Was odd to see like a Dodge Neon for $3995 and then an SL55 for $80K.

I've not had anything but very minor issues with my Honda cars. In my experience Honda strives to be, and is, the most reliable manufacturer on the market. Unlike most other manufacturers, Honda actually does make Quality the #1 priority. Lexus is also good but much more expensive.

Well to give you a better price guess on the new E92 M3...the new 335i BASE price is $41K, those go on sale next month (Sept). I'm going to assume they will be ~70K. I was at United BMW a couple months back and they had an '06 M3 on the showroom, not the Comp. Package, for $65,2xx. If I could afford one I'd move up a notch but being 20, I don't need a $70K car right now...maybe once I get done with school I'll treat myself to an M5 or 911TT?! I'm not sure if I particulary like the new body lines of the coupe but I'm sure it'll grow on me just like the sedan..
Have any of you considered the Z4 ///M coupe?
