View Full Version : I smoked the crap out of a Z4 last night..

3 times...

twice from some stoplights going along hwy74 in Fayette headed towards I-85N...

then once from a 65mph roll on I-85N headed toward I-285E..

The two stoplight runs, wasn't even funny... neither of us had passengers and both of us had our tops up. We both dumped our clutches and had great launches.... well, I did.. I did two VTEC launches back to back.. and killed him.

through the intersection, i had a good carlength on him, then by about 70mph, I was about 3 cars + on him... (this was both runs.. literally identical, except the last one, I had a better launch :))

the highway roll.. was about 6500rpm for me or so around 65mph-ish.. he was down in his appropriate gear as well, I could hear his rpm's winding.. :)

on his third honk, we rolled.. and from the second i layed on the accelerator, I had him by an easy car length.. by the time, I reached 100, i let off.. and I had a good 4 car lengths.. no joke. lol

anywho.. I had fun, and I was on the phone with Jason (overmind) shortly thereafter .. :D

its a shame, he paid more for his car, its a 6cylinder, its a bmw, and supposedly they get more @ss than an S2000....lol, as far as I'm concerned.. my S2000 has gotten me the most @ss I have ever had in my life.. well, just about :)

anyways, thought I'd tell ya'll :p

The Z4 is one of the ugliest cars in BMW's lineup. I got a close look at a MZ4 the other day and it looks just like a regular Z4 with just a badge. The older MZ3 at least had wider fenders, deep dish wheels, and a more aggressive front end.

The new Boxter S has to be the prettiest roadster out there.

Racing is bad. :nono: :D

forget the curb weight...the 2.5 hp is sorry as balls...

Horsepower 184 @ 6000 RPM
Torque 175 @ 3500 RPM
Curb Weight 2932 lbs.

and Mike I don't think the 3.0 would have made much of a difference:

Horsepower 225 @ 5900 RPM
Torque 214 @ 3500 RPM
Curb Weight 2998 lbs.

a miata would have a pretty good run with this thing :rolf: :rolf: :rolf:

Chabot and I up at Perimeter Mall about a couple months back.. we lined up at a light with a Cayman S in between the both of us, and we both pulled on the dude by about a car or 1.5cars.. by about 75mph.. I had chabot by about a half car..

i believe 5.7L gto's and 6.0L gto's can outrun a cayman s in acceleration and 1/4mile time.. am i correct?? if not a dead even match...

it wouldn't destroy an S2000... it would barely take it... lol (in a short run, like i ran with him.. that is)

driver does make the difference in most cases.. but in others, it really doesn't matter.. power>skills most of the time.

I dunno Walter, that Rapide just exudes sexy style. Its ridiculous how beautiful that car is. The M5 is impressive, but I would take the AM concept anday.

this stmt is just straight common sense and if you think otherwise i.e. a m5 being better than the Rapide I'm speechless for once:D

There is no new styling. It is the same AM that we have known now for years.

and what is wrong with that even if...

It doesn't have to be new styling. Its timeless. AM is just plain sexy. If you look up sexy in the dictionary, it will have a picture of Aston Martin. There is no way you could possibly say that an M5 is better looking than the Rapide.

An unfortunate technicality...lol. But yeah. At least they do retain their independence and autonomy to some degree.

Add Jaguar and Volvo to that too. Wouldn't Bentley be associated too?
