What the  is going on. I posted mid aftternoon and my post is GONE!

Ok, Third try, I posted on the old board and didnt' get much response.

My seats hurt my back!!!!!!! I'm old, have 4 bad disks (they are BLACK in my MRI) and, well, Ok, I'm odly proportioned! But I think the S-2000 seats suck!

Has anyone in the club bought and installed aftermarket seats?

I spent hours on the phone this afternoon and no one I contacted has a seat that will fit in the S-2000 that reclines, has an adjustable thigh bolster, and doesn't have side blosters that go all the way to the top of the seat.

For the most part, no one has a seat that will fit between the console and the door. That is one of the hardest things to find. Those that do are racing seats and won't accomodate anyone with shoulders wider than a 12 year old.

HELP! GUYS! Is there anything out there?

NEW Aftermarket seats will all be LESS comfortable than stock.

I suggest that you look at trying to see if a stock seat from an Acura than can be custom made to fit in the S.

Other option is to have a custom made seat cover made with the bolster added in.

Sorry Grainger I've not seen anything. There has been several threads about lowering the driver seat or replacing the seats with racing style ones but nothing on a custom fitted leather seat.

I wonder if the Civic SI seats would fit. They are really nice and may have more support.

Here you go. Seats out of a 1992 DeVille. These should fit in the S without any modifications :) :)

I should go junkyarding. There must be another car out there with a 19" wide seat. That seems to be a limiting factor.

And today I am going to call some seat cover companies to see if the foam can be cut down and a thigh bolster fabricated. I get NO support from the seat for my right leg. That is really causing pain.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I will measure the Si. Do you know of one?

One of my needs is to have the seat recline. It seems that most racing shells are not adjustable in that way; i.e. they don't recline. And to make matters worse, racing shells sit TALLER than stock and street seats. I would be looking at the top of the windshield.

Maybe I should just get my body altered?

These look like the seats out of a 1965 Corvair. And that was a major contributor to my back problems. These two above are a prime example of more expensive is not necessarily better.

Thanks for the thought.

Just go to any Honda dealer, they should have one on the lot you can measure. Also, it sounds like your alread doing it but taking your factory seat to a good upholsterer and have them add padding and recover it with new leather may be the best route. While your add it you can add a seat heater for those cold mornings.

I will check it out this morning.

Do you, or anyone else on the board, have an upolsterer you/they trust?

If you call Platnium Collision, they have one that they highly suggested to me.... I can't remember their names... Marietta Autotrim, I think....

I spent a day calling different aftermarket suppliers and no one has a seat for the S2k.

Then I spent a morning talking to seat recovering places. I found a local (Woodstock) place that suggested putting additional foam behind the center section of the seat back. It would move it forward 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch. He cut a piece and put it behind me.

SAY, we are on to something! Maybe that is why he is in that business. The other suggestions were add padding to the front lip to support my thigh, and cut down the but (you know a**) padding but insert a gel pack to keep it soft.

This last suggestion would be like Recaro's "anti-submarining" profile they have in their seats.

Now I have to convince Paula that this is preferable to visiting the Chiropractor 3 times a week.

Thanks to all for the suggestions, except the DeVille, and there thanks for the laugh.
