View Full Version : In The Trunk.......

Ok, so I bought mine used, er... preowned. And I looked at the tools in the bottom of the trunk, and wondered what goes in the space in the center of the tool compartment?
Is this where the owner's manual goes? There doesn't seem to be anywhere else the manual fits well.
All suggestions, serious and humorous will be entertained/entertaining. http://www.s2katlanta.com/%7Es2katl/forum/images/smilies/food-smiley-004.gif http://www.s2katlanta.com/%7Es2katl/forum/images/smilies/food-smiley-004.gif http://www.s2katlanta.com/%7Es2katl/forum/images/smilies/food-smiley-004.gif

I think A midget can fit back there as well ... have you tried this yet?
Well, there was a cute one in "Total Recall".
Like I said, TMI!!!
Tim, thanks for the opinion. It looks like just space enough for a BLT. :rolf::rolf::rolf:

It's the "other" secret storage compartment, primarliy used for smuggling contraban across the border. California models get more use out of that space than cars sold in other parts of the U.S.

Actually, the tools in the bottom of the trunk are just there because Honda is too lazy to put them where they belong - in the spare tire.
Wrap the tools up in a towel and have tie it with some bungies or long velcro (to keep it from rattling) and stick it inside the spare.
Now you have more trunk space, room for a foot-long sub maybe.

Is that a sandwich or an audio accessory? Seriously, wouldn't that fill the trunk?

Hey, what happened? I had over 150 posts this morning, now only 148. Did the Tuesday night thread get purged?

Yes, the Tuesday night thread gets purged every week. Normally you wouldn't see a huge difference in your post count however, since there was so much havoc this past week the pages went over 5 pages long. Anyways, that is the only thread that gets purged weekly!

No, no, no Ying. :nono: No more people in my trunk. Had I been pulled over with a passed out guy in my trunk, you would have been the one bailing me out! ;)

I think that space was intended for flares that come with european cars.

They must have tiny flares. I don't think the ones I have owned would fit.

In the trunk.....goes a system and/or NOS!! Lol, if you want it. I have a JL audio W6V2 10" sub, memphis 500 D class and JL audio 300/4 amps and a stinger 1 farad cap. HiFi Buys built me a fake floor, so it looks like the whole floor is the sub box, and the amps are mounted under the floor with rectangular holes with rounded edges cut out to show the amps. Soon will be a NOS tank. I have pics on my digital camera but they arent uploaded yet onto my comp. If you want to see them, lemme know. It looks BAD!

I have always wondered.... just how well does the sound travel through the car to the interior? Or is all that power and woofers ONLY there to aggrivate the public at a stop light?

How's your hearing. No Kidding!!!!!:rolf::rolf::rolf:
Sustained levels above 96 dBa will damage your hearing, permanently.

Yeah, my nephews have amplifiers like that. Maybe it helps when the top is down. I can't hear S**t with the top down. And I can't hear the left speaker with my thigh against it.
Maybe I can't hear.....?

If I'm not mistaken, under full accelleration the S2000 comes quite close or exceeds that noise level.

I had those same problems before I upgraded. This was one of the few mods my wife was glad I spent so much money on... :D

OK!!!! Maybe you can talk to my wife. I like to hear what I am playing (old stuff) but my S2k won't play loud enough to hear it going down 75 @ 75 with the top down.

because the trunk is only seperated by a thin wall of plastic from the driver's compartment, you get a lot of sound from the sub in the trunk of the car. It almost turns the trunk into what is called a bandpass box.
I agree with Jesse, it is a must have mod to upgrade the stereo and pickup a DCI from Modifry!!

Sound penetrates the cabin decently, depending on what you came from. I came from a civic hatchback, and NOTHING can compare to that! But you are right, the stock stereo sucks, you really need to upgrade to hear decent quality with the top down, and hear good with the top up.
