A recent post got me thinking, how many of you "share" your car with somebody else?

No problem driving my S! I have a family of great drivers. I've wrecked 2 cars, my wife 1 car, my son 1 car, and my daughter 1 car. That's why we're great drivers!! :D :D

It is only a car... Of course I will let the person I trust most drive it...

I will usually let someone that i know drive the car,but with me in it.My wife does not drive my car,her choice, she would rather drive her van.Go Figure.
I have only let one person drive off alone, that I can think of. I guess i am from the old school, but it almost seams like everytime I borrow something with a motor in it,or everytime I have loaned something with a motor,it does not come back just like it left.

http://www.s2katlanta.com/%7Es2katl/forum/images/smilies/grinning-smiley-003.gif Paula has never owned an automatic car since I have known her. And we have been married for 21 years.

She has always liked fast cars. She learned to drive a stick on a 2002 tii. But she doesn't have a thing for getting the car up on two wheels. She mostly likes dusting guys off from stoplights. A closet street racer! http://www.s2katlanta.com/%7Es2katl/forum/images/smilies/eclipsee_steering.gif

I let Susan drive it anytime she wants. After all, it is registered in her name. I also let Jeremy drive it occasionally.

Alright you two! Take it somewhere else! I think that it is exactly as Dewain said, it is only a car, a person is way more important. If it is a person I trust then why not let them drive it. Of course I would be mad if they wrecked it or something happened but I would be more worried about the individual.

So do you mean that she hasn't driven for 19 years?

No, S2kJones answered you. The 2002 was a BMW in the early 70s. I assumed car guys would know that. My bad! She learned to drive in 1975, learned a manual in 78. The tii was a 6 year old car when she drove it. http://www.s2katlanta.com/%7Es2katl/forum/images/smilies/eclipsee_steering.gif

But you had probably figured that by now.http://www.s2katlanta.com/%7Es2katl/forum/images/smilies/laughing-smiley-007.gif http://www.s2katlanta.com/%7Es2katl/forum/images/smilies/laughing-smiley-007.gif http://www.s2katlanta.com/%7Es2katl/forum/images/smilies/laughing-smiley-007.gif http://www.s2katlanta.com/%7Es2katl/forum/images/smilies/laughing-smiley-007.gif http://www.s2katlanta.com/%7Es2katl/forum/images/smilies/laughing-smiley-007.gif http://www.s2katlanta.com/%7Es2katl/forum/images/smilies/laughing-smiley-007.gif http://www.s2katlanta.com/%7Es2katl/forum/images/smilies/laughing-smiley-007.gif

Ok so get this....I voted for "I don't give a sh*t, they can drive it anytime they want!". I never thought I would do that, but it's the truth! I trust David completely and he is such a good driver, I don't mind that he drives my car at all. I encourage it actually! ....and yes, he treats MY S with the utmost care. He encourages me to drive his S all the time, but I never do. I've driven it twice so far, once in a parking lot and once on my street - that's it! I've never driven his big 'ol truck...yet.

Your missing out if you haven't driven the truck yet. Also make sure you find some muddy roads.

this thread keeps popping up when I click the "new posts" link as though it were only a few minutes old.....

by the way, let Toni drive the S from the top of the perimeter, up 75 N, and over the mountain to LaFayette last night -- 2 hour trip (50 minutes in ATL traffic) -- and I said nary a word.

OK, it IS my wife that is getting the S2k (looks like later this week). I drive an Acura CL type S, and fully approve of the purchase. She has wanted one for 2 years, and I have been a bad husband for not getting her one sooner. The good news is that she wants kids too, so sometime beyond 9 months, but sooner than 2 years, the S2k becomes mine, and she gets the kid mobile (we both like the VM Toureg).
