Yes I am!! I am looking forward to tomorrow. The lead follow is total crap. They keep you around 80 to 90 mph, down the back straight.
Tomorrow, no instuctor to keep me form haulin. It's nice to drive top down too.

I had some free time and decided to go out to RA and see Dave Jones chew up some rubber on the track. Here are a few photos that I took:

Thanks so much S2kDude for coming out to the track. Those pic's you took are GREAT! I tried hard to take pictures like that, but Dave's too fast and my camera is too slow. I gave up and took movies instead.
I had the priviledge of riding with David on 3 of his runs today. I am so incredibly impressed - not just with his amazing driving ability, but with his overall track "presence". He always used hand signals consistently and appropriately (like to let other drivers know when to pass (yes, he let faster cars pass) or when he was going to pass). He waved to each corner worker on the last lap of each of his runs, and each one would wave, give the thumbs up or even salute back to him. I asked why, and he said it was "good karma". He took constructive critisizm well from the instructors. He even refrained from drifting! All in all, he drove to the best of his ability, and it was just incredibly awesome. Ok, I am done gloating now. Sorry. :o
This is the last picture I took of him on his last run today. He's waving to the corner worker on turn 12.

Here are links to a few movies too. You need QuickTime to view them properly. Enjoy!

He was literally STOMPING on the breaks. He was consistently going from from 115-118mph to 45mph in a matter of just a few seconds going into turn 10. He was braking and downshifting very hard and very fast down to 2nd gear to get through the turn. I think I'm going to have bruises on my shoulder from the seatbelt!

Sweet vids and pics. Man that looks like a ton of fun. Anybody crash? You know us rednecks like to see wrecks.:) Overall how do you compare yourself to other track times and such. I know it is mostly for fun but normally the previous time around you always want to try to beat it. What other kinds of cars were out there? How many cars on the track at once? And how much was this sweet endeavor?

Man that looks like fun!!!! Ditto on Jeff's questions. We need more details! Sounds like it took a toll on your car, i.e. tires and brakes. Was this an open class? Can't wait for Roebling!:D :D :D

I did manage to see a 911 spin in front of me going into turns 2 and 3.
Overall the car did very well. I went through a set of pads and my tires look worn, other then that everything went fine. I did take some in car video, so I will need to see what my lap times were from the footage. There were 30 cars on the track during some of the runs.
As far as cost, This was my Christmas present from Wendy. It probably ran somwhere around $500.

No one crashed that I am aware of. An Audi TT lost power and a Lotus Esprit (sp?) died too, but no one crashed.
There were lots of Corvettes, BMW's, Porsche's and souped up Miata's. There were some (REALLY FAST) Mini's, Evo's, Vypers, 2 Crown Vic's (!), a Ferrari, Cadillac CTS (I think that's the model), 1 other S2000 (SPDKLLS was his license plate), WRX wagon, Audi S4 Wagon....there was a whole bunch of neato cars out there. Also, Saturday was British Motor Car Day at Chateau Elan just down the road. I got to see a lot of cool cars from that too! :british:

I didn't have any of the drop cards with me at the time - sorry Dr.T! HOWEVER, I did drop off my frist drop card ever on a GIRL'S S2000 (she works next door to me). Hope that makes up for it!;)

The one day I was at RA there were lots of cars that would blow by me between 7 & 9, only to have me catch them by late braking for 10 and then I'd be so far up their butt on 10-12 that they would let me by on the front straight. I'm sure David caught his fair share over the course of the day too.

This is very true. I caught a lot of fast cars in that braking zone.
Speaking of brakes... I am finding that my rear brakes are taking more abuse then the fronts. I am seeing more wear on the rears as well. I wish there was some type of rear brake duct for the S.
