Like the title states, I'm looking to purchase an 04-05 STi in Aspen White. I'd prefer bone stock but a couple mods, depending on what they are, won't hurt.
Let me know if you run across anything that's a decent deal.
Thanks. :goodjob:
What about that super modded one from cali?

An editor from Super Street ended up getting it before I had a chance to take a look at it. I liked it but don't like buying cars that are already "modded" as I don't feel like it's something I created.....if that makes sense?!?!
Oh i know wat u mean... But its just a bad ass ride

I agree. It was very nicely put together and a hell of a deal for what I could have got it for but thought I'd let someone else buy the car and keep it as is.

I would PM Mere and Brian GT. The have silver for one that maybe for sale very soon.
Is there a reason you want 04-05? I heard those were the "glass" transmission years..

I have been meaning to get in touch with Mere but didn't realize that BrianGT had one...
I personally prefer the exterior of the 04-05 but I'd go for the 06-07 if they are more "bulletproof" per say, although we all know nothing is bulletproof.

They are married. Its their car
Walter... you are confusing the 04-05 STi with the 04-05 WRX...
The 6MT is the same in the 04-06, the gearing is different on the 07 (don't know about the 08). The WRX 5MT is a POS from 02-05.
However the 04 STi is not the best, the hubs, bearing and brakes all suck big time. If you track an 04 STi you will kill your bearings. The reason the hubs and bearings suck is that they are the same parts found in the 02-05 WRXs. The brakes just plain suck. I'd invest in a 05 or 06 STi as those are the "prime" years. The 07 has some issues with tuning and the gearing/differential is a bit different than the 04-06. The 06 Sti had some slight changes but overall it's the same car as the 05 with some slightly different body panels. Also the 04 STi has no good wheels available because it's the WRX hub and the original BBS rims are extermely rare to find for this car. Meanwhile the 05-07 stock BBS wheels are cheap (i had like four sets at one point).
Over all I personally grew out of my STi, it is in reality a japanese mustang. It goes fast in a straight line but doesn't want to turn. Also for driver development it can hide some serious bad driving habits and give drivers a false sense of ability.
The reason I went to an s2000 is because I wanted to make myself a better driver (i've been told numerous times that the s2000 is one of the hardest cars to drive). If you want a "fast" dd i'd go with something cheaper like a MS 3. I guess I just have fallen out of love with my STi and I really don't see what it brings to the table other than gobbs of hp and torque. If you want a rewarding car to drive i'd stick with the s2000. Just my 3 cents.

Thanks for the input Mere. Would you mind calling me at some point cause I'd really like to go over everything as I know it's a lot to type for you....
