Thanks, All. It's been a great birthday so far.
My girls prepared a very nice meal for me this weekend complete with sparkling apple cider, grilled mahi mahi, twice baked sweet potatoes and crayon menu & place cards.
Last night, the 3 of us got to have another dinner together where I allowed myself to cheat a bit -- "splitters" made from beef keilbasa cooked in hot olive oil until they split served with homemade relish & mustard. At one point, Morgan looked at me and asked me to "come back down from Heaven and eat with us".
After Morgan left, Toni pulled out her special surprise. When I ate icecream, Blue Bell had my favorite flavour made with vanilla, chunks of white chocolate & almonds - now discontinued. Toni went to the trouble of taking a half-gallon of Blue Bell vanilla bean to "Cold Stone Creamery" in Decatur and had them mix in the white chocolate & almonds. MAN was that good.
Now the weekend is coming. The weather is going to be great. Toni's taking me to the mountains. We'll have a great drive and visit with whomever friends decide to join us Saturday.
