Unfortunately this is ONLY for Drivers and one passenger per vehicle. No Exceptions!! Because of Insurance reasons our venue is playing it safe and keeping the spectatorship to a minimum.
Doesn't look like anyone can come support:what:

Ok, I need to see if anyone would be willing to drive my truck from the house to the event, the day of (3/20). Chances are you could spend the night here, since we will need to be up at the track in commerce by 7:30am. Yes, you will get breakfast and lunch, and all the tire smoke you care to inhale.

OK, I can't find anyone else. So, you're in. I know that I will be able to take you on runs as a passenger....and we should be able to sneak you in a couple of runs behind the wheel.
david, i might make it. I don't know what'll happen almost a month from now, but if nothing comes up...i'm definately in for the viewing...does it cost any to get in or ride with you???

Well this was definitely one cool event. The run groups were kinda big so you didn't get to go out quickly after your last run, but it was still fun. David also has turned into a small legend in the drift crowd there. Being the only one in an S2000 will turn enough heads, but he also happens to have the loudest exhaust. All the fart cans and 4" pipes and no pipes paled in comparison. Everyone was asking what sort of turbo or supercharger he was running.
As we were signing in and being tech inspected, we noticed a 1980's model Crown Victoria LTD parked across from us. We made jokes about the guy drifting it and all only to find out later that two corn fed boys from Tennessee arrived in it to actually drift it! This was a must see. To give you a visual (since we didn't have a camera), I'll go over a quick summary of the ride.
It was a dark brown color with dents and dings galore. The hood and trunk were, of course, black. The trunk was off a different model car altogether and had to be held down with hood pins. The driver seat was a different color and the driver fastened himself in by placing pillows all around to fill in the extra room. Once the hood was popped, you noticed the aftermarket intake which was mainly just a tube with a cone filter, fed by an air duct coming from the front bumper somewhere to add the cold air. A peice of metal was also screwed to the bottom as a heat shield from the engine. To top it all off, he had a handicap plate.
Needless to say, he got alot of attention and was doubted by most on the track. However, once he got on the course, it was a different story. This guy was actually pretty good and just watching that huge Crown Vic slide all over the course was hillarious! Everyone was clapping and cheering him on. On one run, he even stuck his hand out the window in a rocker sign as he slid sideways around one of the first turns.
After watching him, I just had to ask for a ride. He let me ride along twice before the day was out. Man was that a roller coaster. You felt like you were about to bite the dust at any second, but this guy surprised me every corner with great drifts and controll. He also explained that he autocrossed it!
Watching everyone else slide around the course just looked like a drift event. When this guy did it, it looked like a car chase or a movie of some sort. Seeing a car that big go sideways on so many turns is a definite must see.
At the end of the day, the course was so torn up, the guys were mainly trying to avoid chunks of asphalt rather than stay in the cones. We all walked away with tire smoke in our eyes and rubber boogers, but it was definitely worth it.
The next event will be open to the public so hopefully most of you can come and watch. It's really an interesting experience. Thanks alot David for bringing me along.

Great write-up Joe! Sorry I missed you yesterday. I drove the S and took the LONG way home from my friends house, so I didn't get home in time to say bye! Anyway, it's cool to know that I married a "legend". I saw on the video that one chick even asked David to sign her shirt...."anywhere". Hmmm. Twas smart of him to sign on her SHOULDER.
David told me about the LTD - I wish I could have seen that! That's cool that you were able to go for rides in both cars. I'm sure there will be pic's and movies available soon. David said the media was there again. I'm excited to see more!

Yes they are. Who shot those pics? Are the stock wheels H rated still? Those pics were shot by Chris Rhoad.
I went through a set of Yokohama AVS Sports. They had plenty of tread left on them, they just delaminated. They were the tires that I got from you a while back. I guess they sat around for too long.
The other tires are Kuhmo 711's. They are getting ready to come apart too. Looks like I will need a new set for the next event.

Here's a good one. I just can't get enough of looking at this guy. I told David, it need to blow like $200 on some jalopy from the 80's and drift the hell out of it. If I couldn't have that super nice BMW or some sweet car to drift, I would rather have the biggest underdog possible.
